Carolina The Story Teller

Carolina has been teaching us all about story telling. She organised us to go to a wooded area by the stream next to school. We laid down some tarpaulins and all got comfortable. We shared our stories for 45 minutes and we all loved hearing the stories we had written.

Story Telling

Some of the stories we have been writing about are a German boy and it is about a boy in the outskirts of Berlin has lost all hope but then he became a solder he has to brake the nazi war machine to clam victory for all mother Russia. Another story is called Playground Wars and it is about Michael Jackson and his friend and they try to get on the playground but the kids wont let them. We loved writing and reading our narrative stories. Matthew and Baiden

Over the last week we have been learning to write short narrative stories. We published our stories and made covers for our books. We had to chose a creative idea and add similies, alliteration, onomatopoeia and descriptive language. We also got to put barcodes and blurbs on the back.

On Thursday we went down to the stream beside our school and shared some of our stories aloud! This was scary! Tomorrow we are going to the old peoples home to pick a Nana or Grandad to share our stories with them,We are going to have lots of fun!

Room 2 2010

Last week the Tim Tim reading group and Mr Power read a story called War Games. We had to make a brainstorm on stuff from the book like: The place where they lived, there names and events from the story. I liked making the Wordle because it was the second time making a Wordle. I like to work on the computers.

Reading elearning

Over a week each reading group has a comprehension elearning follow up activity to complete. Week 1 - 3 we have been learning about Wordles. The children had to create a Wordle from the main characters and events from the story they read as a group. Here are some of our Wordles.

Welcome to 2010 in Room 2

Welcome Twoians 2010,
I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday and are all ready to come back this year ready for new and exciting challenges. Over the first few days we will begin to be introduced to the programmes of room 2 and how things will work. By the second week we will straight into all curriculum programmes and activities. We want to start the year as we want to finish it!
